Have been on the fence about getting the Enhanced Edition on PC, but now I’m also on the fence about getting it for my iPad. I never played Neverwinter Nights on the PC, I have the Original Diamond Edition from GOG, but just never got around to playing it. I’m guessing the only modules you can play are the official ones, or can you add custom mods? Also how does it handle persistent worlds? Still hopeful for being able to play that game). Slink through the shadows as a deadly half-elven rogue, wield fearsome magics as a powerful gnomish sorcerer, vanquish your foes as an armor-clad dwarven paladin. Here are my questions, first is the port stable? Does the touchscreen controls handle well? Does it support mouse and keyboard? (this one is unlikely, but since apple announced this was coming to the iPad, and Divinity Original Sin 2 would get this support. Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition adds all-new enhanced features to the content of Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition. As someone who really enjoyed KOTOR on the iPad, I have good expectations. I like the idea of having hours of gameplay on mobile, and considering I can play online and even cross platform is a great bonus. It may actually have made sense to price the game cheaper at first, and then slowly add to the price as they add more substantial things to the game, similar to some Early Access projects.I’ve seen a port in the appstore and was wondering if it’s a good investment. At a $10 price point, this would be an instant recommendation. I think the experience of the game will keep improving based on their track record, but I don't think that's an easy sell for the average person at $20.
This shouldn't be too surprising though - BG didn't receive its biggest improvements until a few years after it was out. They looked into radically improving the UI (like they did in Planescape Torment), but it seems like that will take quite a bit of time to get done. Unlike the Infinity games, there aren't so many low-hanging fruits to drastically improve the experience for casual players. I think there's little for them to offer right now for people who aren't already fans of NWN, particularly the multiplayer component or module creation. 26 Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition (Italian) 10 Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition (Italiano) 31 Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition 279 Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition 28 Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear 256 Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition 96 Modding 231 Off Topic 385 French 58 Discussions Gnrales 9 Neverwinter Nights. If one day there is enough improvements in their to warrant an upgrade, then I might consider it, but what they are shipping is insubstantial fluff type improvements.
I never pay for software today, counting on developers to add all kinds of stuff in the future. It's kind of all or nothing if you want it to be acceptable. It isn't something you can deliver half done, as then the different level of assets stand out like a sore thumb. Also that really that doesn't look like Aribeth.
But right now they have one questionable looking Proof of concept character (head looks too small). Well when they get it done, that might be noteworthy. NN is more a multiplayer game platform than a game, so it's really hard to make changes that are immediately obvious to players. I've been watching their twitch streams, and they've done a lot of work behind the scenes, fixing bugs, allowing modders to do a lot more, and improving the networking code. They're not advertising it now because it's far from done, but they've started modifying the assets, and they'll be gradually uploading them as mods/to the steam workshop. Bluddy: > Replacing the models? Where are you getting that?
